The Anniversary of Edgar Allan Poe’s Death

Edgar Allan Poe died on October 7, 1849 in Baltimore, Maryland. He was 40 years of age.  A monument now marks his burial site, but at the time of his death he was buried in a grave marked only with a numbered stone.
